A HADITH A DAY KEEPS THE SHAITAAN AWAY 365 BLESSED SAYINGS OF THE HOLY PROPHET P-8
DEATH AND ESAAL-E-SAWAAB
(303) The Beloved Rasool (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "After a person dies, all his good deeds come to an end, except for three things; Sadqa-e-Jaariyah, Knowledge that is beneficial and pious children who make dua for him." (Muslim Shareef) -Sadqa-e-Jaariyah are actions such as building a Musjid, printing Islamic literature for educational purposes etc.(304) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Verily Almighty Allah will elevate the position of a person in Jannat, so he will ask, ‘O Allah, How did I get this great position?’ Almighty Allah will say, ‘Your son made Dua-e-Mahfirat (Prayed for your pardon) for you, thus you have received this position.” (Mishkaat)
(305) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, “A person says, ‘This is my wealth. This is my wealth’ and yet there are only three benefits in his wealth; That which he used to eat and finished it, That which he wore and made old and that which he distributed and thus saved it for the hereafter. With the exception of this, what is left, is to go, (in other words) that which he will leave behind for others (his heirs).” (Muslim)
(306) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Zirr (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, “One who makes a claim for something that does not belong to him is not from us and he has made hell his abode.” (Baihaqi)
(307) Ummul Mu’mineen Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (radi Allahu anha) said, When Negus passed away, we were told that a light could be seen perpetually at his grave. (Abu Dawood) [Negus also known as Najashi was the King of Abyssinia who accepted Islam on hearing about Islam and about Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)]
(308) Hazrat Jaabir (radi Allahu anhu) reported that Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Haram (radi Allahu anhu) passed away and was in debt to others. I asked the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) to intercede with his creditors for some reduction in the debts. The Prophet requested them (to reduce the debts) but they were not too willing. The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said to me, "Go and put your dates (In heaps) according to their different kinds. The Ajwa on one side and the cluster of Ibn Zaid on another side etc and then call me." I did that and called the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam). He came and sat at the head or in the middle of the heaps and ordered me. Measure (the dates) for the people (creditors)." I measured for them till I paid all the debts. My dates remained as it nothing had been taken from them.”(Bukhari)
(309) Hazrat Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) reported that a man said to Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam), "My mother died, will it benefit her if I give in charity on her behalf?" The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) replied in the affirmative. The man said, "I have a garden and I make you a witness that I give it in charity on her behalf."
(310) Hazrat Anas bin Malik (radi Allahu anhu) reported Rasoolullah (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Three things follow the janaaza of a dead man. Two of them come back and one is left with him: the members of his family, wealth and his-good deeds. The members of his family and wealth come back and the deeds alone are left with him. (Muslim)
(311) Hazrat Uthman (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “That person who dies having full faith in ‘Laa ilaaha ilal laah’, will enter Holy Paradise.” (Mishkaat)
(312) Hazrat Ma’az ibn Jabl (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the one, whose last words (before death) are Laa ilaaha ilal laah, will enter Jannat.” (Mishkaat)
(313) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “At the time of martyrdom, a shaheed only feels pain equivalent to the biting of an ant.” (Mishkaat)
(314) Hazrat Abu Mas’ood (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death of someone from the people but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah, thus, when you see them, stand up and pray." (Bukhari)
(315) Hazrat Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Who among you considers the wealth of his heirs dearer to him than his own wealth?" They replied, "Prophet of Allah (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)! There is none among us but he loves his own wealth more." The Prophet said, "So his wealth is whatever he spends (in Allah's Cause) during his life (on good deeds) while the wealth of his heirs is whatever he leaves after his death."(Bukhari)
(316) The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "A servant thinks of the difficulties of death as illness and tries to treat it, but his body parts bid farewell to one another by saying, 'Salaams upon you. Now we will be separated from one another until qiyaamat.'" (Mukashifatul Quloob)
QIYAAMAT
(317) Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (radi Allahu anhu) said that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "A time will come that the best property of a Muslim will be sheep which he will take to the top of Mountains and to places of rainfall (valleys) so as to flee with his religion from afflictions." (Bukhari)(318) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, “Qayaamat will not be established until the son of Mariam (Nabi Esa alaihis salaam) descends amongst you as a just ruler. He will break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the Jizya tax. Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it (as charitable gifts). (Bukhari)
(319) It is on the authority of Hazrat Hassan Basri (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "A time will come, when people will talk of worldly affairs inside the Musjid. Do not sit with such people for Allah has nothing to do with such persons." (Baihaqi - Sha'bul Imaan)
(320) Hazrat Anas bin Maalik (radi Allahu anhu) reported that Rasoolullah (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) came out as the sun declined at mid-day and offered the Zuhr prayer. He then stood on the pulpit and spoke about the Hour (Day of Judgment) and said that in it there would be tremendous things. He then said, "Whoever likes to ask me about anything he can do so and I shall reply as long as I am at this place of mine. Most of the people wept and the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said repeatedly, "Ask me." Abdullah bin Hudhafa As-Sahmi stood up and said, "Who is my father?" The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Your father is Hudhafa." The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) repeatedly said, "Ask me." Then Hazrat Umar (radi Allahu anhu) knelt before him and said, "We are pleased with Allah as our Lord, Islam as our religion, and Muhammad (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as our Prophet." The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) then became quiet and said, "Paradise and Hell-fire were displayed in front of me on this wall just now and I have never seen a better thing (than the former) and a worse thing (than the latter)." (Bukhari)
(321) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "The Hour (Last Day) will not be established until (religious) knowledge will be taken away (by the death of religious learned men), earthquakes will be very frequent, time will pass quickly, afflictions will appear, murders will increase and money will overflow amongst you." (Bukhari)
(322) Hazrat Abu Musa (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "A time will come upon the people when a person will wander about with gold as Zakaat and will not find anybody to accept it, and one man will be seen followed by forty women to be their guardian because of scarceness of men and great number of women.” (Bukhari)
MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS
(323) Hazrat Anas (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, "Love for the Ansar is a sign of faith and hatred for the Ansar is a sign of hypocrisy." (Bukhari)(324) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, " Whoever says: "La ilaaha illal’lah wahdahu la sharee ka lahu, lahu-l-mulk wa lahu-l-hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shai'in Qadeer," one hundred times will get the same reward as given for freeing ten slaves; and one hundred good deeds will be written in his accounts, and one hundred sins will be deducted from his accounts, and it (his saying) will be a shield for him from satan on that day till night, and nobody will be able to do a better deed except the one who does more than he." (Bukhari)
(325) Hazrat Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said: "I have been commanded (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is Allah's Messenger, and offer the prayers correctly and give the obligatory charity, so if they perform that, then they save their lives and property from me except for Islamic laws and then their reckoning (accounts) will be done by Allah." (Bukhari)
(326) Hazrat Alqama (radi Allahu anhu) reported: While I was walking with 'Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu) he said, "We were in the company of the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)and he (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, 'He who can afford to marry should marry, because it will help him refrain from looking at other women, and save his private parts from committing illegal sexual relation; and he who cannot afford to marry is advised to fast, as fasting will diminish his sexual desire." (Bukhari)
(327) The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “When any nation sits down to make the Zikr of Allah, the Angels surround them from all directions and the Mercy of Allah envelopes them and the people are blessed with sakina (sanctity to the soul and peace to the heart) and Allah remembers them amongst those close to him.”(Muslim)
(328) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, "If any one of you improves (follows strictly) his Islamic religion then his good deeds will be rewarded ten times to seven hundred times for each good deed and a bad deed will be recorded as it is." (Bukhari)
(329) It is on the authority of Hazrat Jareer bin Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Allah is not Merciful upon that person who does not show mercy to the people." (Bukhari/Muslim)
(330) Hazrat Jaabir bin Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that Hazrat Umar (radi Allahu anhu) said, "Abu Bakr (radi Allahu anhu) is our leader and he freed our leader, in other words Hazrat Bilal (radi Allahu anhu) (Bukhari)
Note: This Hadith refers to when Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (radi Allahu anhu) freed Hazrat Bilal (radi Allahu anhu) from his kaafir slave master. It also shows the excellence that has been given to Hazrat Bilal and it shows the love and honour the other Sahaba-e-Kiraam had for him.
(331) Hazrat Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Amongst the trees, there is a tree, the leaves of which do not fall and is like a Muslim. Tell me the name of that tree." Everybody started thinking about the trees of the desert areas. And I thought of the date-palm tree but felt shy to answer the others then asked, "What is that tree, O Allah's Prophet?" He replied, "It is the date-palm tree." (Bukhari)
(332) It is on the authority of Hazrat Jaabir bin Sumrah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "When Allah gives someone wealth, then he should spend on his family." (Muslim)
Note: It does not refer to being lavish, but means that you should not hoard your wealth and deprive your family of their necessities.
(333) The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) has stated, "There are certain of Allah's servants that have been set aside to fulfill the necessities of the people. People will call to them in their times of need. They are protected from the punishment of Almighty Allah". (Jaame Saghir)
(334) It is on the authority of Hazrat Anas (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "When a person leaves his house, he should say, "Bismillaahi Tawak'kalto alal laahi Laa howla wa Laa Quw'wata il'la bil'laahi."(Tirmizi Shareef)
(335) Hazrat Uqba bin Aamir (radi Allahu anhu) says, “I presented myself before the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) and I asked, O Prophet of Allah (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam), what can be done to attain salvation? The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) replied, ‘Keep your tongue in control. Your house is the best place for you and weep due to your sins.’” (Tirmizi)
(336) Hazrat Bar’ra ibn Aazib (radi Allahu anhu) says, The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said to me, ‘When you intend to go to sleep then make wudu like you do for Namaaz, then lie on your right hand side and finally read this prayer: Allahum’ma Aslamtu Nafsi Ilaika Wa Waj’jahtoo Wajhee Ilaika, Wa Faw’wadtu Amri Ilaika, Wal Jatu Zahri Ilaika Raghbataw Wa Rahbatan ilaika, la Maljaa wa laa Manjaa minka il’la ilaika, Aamantu bi kitaabikal lazee Anzalta wa Nabiy’yikal Lazee Arsalta.” (Bukhari)
(337) It is on the authority of Hazrat Rukaana (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "The difference between us and the mushriks is that we tie our turbans on hats." (Tirmizi)
(NOTE: In other words we should not tie a turban without a hat.)
(338) Hazrat Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, "Do contrary to the Mushriks. In other words, lengthen your beards and trim your moustache." (Bukhari)
(339) Hazrat Anas (radi Allahu anhu) says that the time has been set aside for us for the trimming of the moustache, clipping the nails, removing the underarm hair and shaving off the pubic hairs. It should not be left for more than forty days. (Muslim)
(340) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abdullah ibn Amar (radi Allahu anhuma) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Almighty Allah wrote the Taqdeer of the entire creation fifty thousand years before creating the skies and the earth."(Muslim Shareef)
(341) Hazrat Ali Murtuza (radi Allahu anhu) says that I heard from the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) say, “Abdaals will be in Syria. They are forty men. When one of them passes away, then Allah appoints another in his place. Through their blessings it rains, through them victory is gained over enemies and through their blessing punishment is moved away from the people of Syria.” (Mishkaat)
(342) It in on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "The first group (of people) who will enter Paradise will be (glittering) like the full moon, and the group next to them will be (glittering) like the most brilliant star in the sky. Their hearts will be as if the heart of a single man, for they will have neither enmity nor jealousy amongst themselves; everyone will have two wives from the Hoors (who will be so beautiful, pure and transparent that) the marrow of the bones of their legs will be seen through the bones and the flesh." (Bukhari)
(343) The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Jannat is Haraam upon that person who speaks vulgarly and vilely." (Kimya-e-Sa’adat)
(344) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Allah likes when a person sneezes and dislikes yawning. When anyone of you sneezes then he should say Alhumdulillah and the one hearing him should say Yarhamuk Allah as it is the duty of a Muslim to do so. Yawning is from the side of shaitaan. When a person yawns, he should try his best to stop it as shaitaan becomes pleased and laughs when one yawns as yawning is a sign of laziness and ghaflat, and shaitaan likes such things. (Bukhari)
(345) The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Beware of the sight of a True Believer (Momin) for he sees with the Light of Allah." (Ibn Hajar)
Explanation: This shows that we should beware of the sight of the pious servants of Allah such as the Awliyah Allah etc. for they see with the Noor of Allah and they even see that, which can not see with our weak eyes. We should not think that they are not aware of our conditions and that they see like ordinary people see. The Pious have said that when the Awliyah close their eyes, they see with their hearts.
(346) Hazrat Ka'ab bin Malik (radi Allahu anhu) narrated: I said, "O Prophet of Allah (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)! For the acceptance of my repentance I wish to give all my property in charity for Allah's sake through Allah's Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)." He said, "It is better for you to keep some of the property for yourself." I said, "Then I will keep my share in Khaibar."(Bukhari)
(347) Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (radi Allahu anha) reported that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) invoked Allah in the prayer saying, "O Allah, I seek refuge with you from all sins, and from being in debt." Someone said, O Allah's Beloved Prophet! (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) (I see) very often you seek refuge with Allah from being in debt. He replied, "If a person is in debt, he tells lies when he speaks, and breaks his promises when he promises." (Bukhari)
(348) Hazrat Umar (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that The Prophet (Sall Allahu alaihi Wa Sallam) used to give me something but I would say to him, "would you give it to a poorer and needier one than l?" The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said to me, "Take it. If you are given something from this property, without asking for it or having greed for it take it; and if not given, do not run for it."
(349) Hazrat Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, “Allah's Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "The example of a Believer who recites the Quran, is that of a citron which smells good and tastes good; And the example of a Believer who does not recite the Quran, is that of a date which has no smell but tastes sweet; and the example of a hypocrite who recites the Quran, is that of an aromatic plant which smells good but tastes bitter; and the example of a hypocrite who does not recite the Quran, is that of a colocynth plant which has no smell and is bitter in taste."(Bukhari)
(350) Yazid ibn Sa'id al-Kindi (radi Allahu anhu) narrated, “When the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) supplicated (Allah) he would raise his hands and turn his hands over his face. (Bukhari)
(351) It is on the authority of Hazrat Amr bin Shuaib (radi Allahu anhu), who narrated from his father who narrated from his father that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "Eat, drink, give sadqa and dress up, as long as there is no wasting and pride in what you do." (Ibn Majah)
(352) Imam Maalik narrated from Abu Qatadah (radi Allahu anhum). He (Abu Qatadah) says, “I had lots of hair on my head so I asked the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) if I should comb it and he (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) told me that I should comb it and take good care of it. Due to this command of the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam), I used to sometimes use oil on my hair twice in a day.” (Maalik)
(353) It is on the authority of Hazrat Waathila (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, “A very big (major) sin is when a man rejects his children.” (In other words he refuses that he is the father of a certain child) (Tibraani)
(354) The Beloved Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “In every Ummah there are some people who are yahoodis and in my Ummah, the yahoodis are those who try to falsify the Taqdeer which Allah mentions.”
(355) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, "The poor person is not the one who goes around the people and asks them for a mouthful or two (of meals) or a date or two but the poor is that who has not enough (money) to satisfy his needs and whose condition is not known to others, that others may give him something in charity, and who does not beg of people." (Bukhari)
(356) The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) says, "My entire Ummah was presented before me with each individual's list of deeds, good as well as bad."(Muslim Shareef)
(357) Hazrat Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “"O Allah! Bless our Sham and our Yemen." People said, "Our Najd as well." The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) again said, "O Allah! Bless our Sham and Yemen." They said again, "Our Najd as well." On that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "(In Najd) There will appear earthquakes and afflictions, and from there will emerge the horns of shaitaan." (Bukhari)
Note: The Name of Najd has been changed to Riyadh. Changing of the name will not change that which was foretold by Rasoolullah (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)
(358) Hazrat Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “The servant (whose fault) Allah conceals in this world, Allah will also conceal (his faults) on the Day of Resurrection.” (Muslim)
(359) It is reported on the authority of Hazrat Sa'ad ibn Abi Waqqas (radi Allahu anhu), “Both of my ears heard the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) saying this: ‘He who claimed the fatherhood of anyone else besides his real father knowingly (committed a great sin); Paradise is forbidden to him. Hazrat Abu Bakra (radi Allahu anhu) asserted that he too heard it from the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) .(Muslim)
(360) Hazrat Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) had forbidden the sale of dates till they were good (ripe), and when it was asked what it meant, the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Till there is no danger of blight." (Blight is a type of harmful fungus in fruit) (Bukhari)
(361) Hazrat Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) reported that once the Prophet embraced me and said, "O Allah! Bestow on him the knowledge of the Book (Qur'an)." (Bukhari)
(362) Hazrat Asma (radi Allahu anha) reported: The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said to me, "Do not withhold your money, (for if you did so) Allah will with-hold His blessings from you." (Bukhari)
(363) Hazrat Aisha (radi Allahu anha) narrated that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "If somebody innovates something which is not in harmony with the principles of our religion, that thing is rejected." (Bukhari)

THE IMPORTANCE OF
CONVEYING SALAAMS etc.
(260) Hazrat Jaabir (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, “One should convey Salaams before a conversation.” (Tirmizi)CONVEYING SALAAMS etc.
(261) Hazrat Anas (radi Allahu anhu) is reported to have said that that Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) passed by a group of (young) boys and he conveyed salaams to them. (Bukhari – Muslim)
(262) Hazrat Abu Umaama (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, “Closer to Allah is that person who is first in conveying salaam.”(Tirmizi – Abu Dawood)
(263) Hazrat Bar’ra bin Aazib (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, “When two Muslims meet and shake hands with one another, then they are granted forgiveness (for their sins) even before they part.” (Tirmizi Shareef)
(264) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "The younger person should greet the elder one, and the walking person should greet the sitting one, and the small number of persons should greet the large number of people." (Bukhari)
KEEPING NAMES
(265) Hazrat Abu Dardah (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, "On the day of Qayaamah, each of you will be summoned by the name of his father, so keep good names." (Abu Dawud)(266) Hazrat Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, "From amongst the names (you keep), Allah loves more the names Abdullah and Abdur Rahman." (Muslim)
(267) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Raafi (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)is reported to have said, "If you keep your sons name Muhammad, then do not beat him up and do not deprive him." (Musnad Bazaaz)
(268) It is on the authority of Hazrat Nabeet bin Shurait (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "Allah said to me, 'By My Honour and my Majesty, I will not put into hell that person whose name is kept on your name. (in other words a person whose name is Muhammad)." (Muniyatul Awliyah)
(269) It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Keep names on my name, but do not keep my kunniyat (specially attributed title).” (Tibrani)
(270) It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umaama (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “If a person has a son and he keeps his name Muhammad based on my love and to attain blessings from my name, then both him and his son will enter paradise.”
(271) Haafiz Abu Taahir and Haafiz ibn Bukair narrate on the authority of Hazrat Anas (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “On the day of Qiyaamat, two people will be present before Almighty Allah. They command will be given for them to be entered into Jannat. They will ask, ‘O Allah! What is that deed through which we are being entered into Jannat? We have done no such good deed to make us worthy of entering Jannat.’ Almighty Allah will say, ‘Go into Paradise, for I have promised that whosoever has the name Muhammad or Ahmad will not enter Hell.”
Note: In presenting the explanation to this Hadith Shareef, Aala Hazrat Ash Shah Imam Ahmed Raza Khan (radi Allahu anhu) says, “In other words, this is only if one is a momin (a true believer) and in the terminology of the Quran, Hadith and Sahaba, this refers to a person who is Sunni Sahihul Aqida (one who holds the correct beliefs of Ahle Sunnat wa Jamaat). As for the budmazhabs (misled sects), it has been mentioned in the Hadith Shareef that they are the ‘Dogs of Hell’ and none of their deeds will be accepted. If a budmazhab (misled sect follower) is killed through tyranny between Hajr-e-Aswad and Muqaam-e-Ibraahim and he remains patient and expects reward for this which he is aware is to happen to him, then too, Allah will not look at his condition and will enter him into Hell. These Ahadith have been narrated by Daarqutni, Ibn Majah, Baihaqi and Ibn Jauzi etc from Hazrat Abu Umaama and Hazrat Huzaifa and Hazrat Anas (radi Allahu ta aala anhum) and this faqeer (Aala Hazrat) has quoted these narrations in numerous of his Fatawa. Now, it must be noted that there is no glad tidings in this Hadith (about those whose names are Muhammad and Ahmad), for kufaar like Muhammed bin Abdul Wahab Najdi or Sayid Ahmed Khan whose maslak is clearly kufr, since even the fragrance of Jannat is definitely haraam upon the kaafirs.” (Ahkaam-e-Shariat)
(272) Ibn Adi and Abu Saeed Naqaash (radi Allahu anhu) narrates with the merit of sahih in Mu’jim that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “If there is any person by the name Muhammad seated whilst eating around a eating cloth (table cloth) with others, then they will be exalted every day twice.”
(273) Ibn Sa’ad (radi Allahu anhu) narrates in his Tabqaat from Uthman Umri that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said,” What loss is there to you if there are one, two or three Muhammads in your home?”
(274) It is in Tibraani Kabeer on the authority of Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (radi Allahu anhuma) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “One who has three sons born to him and does not keep even one of their names Muhammad, is a jaahil (ignorant person).”
(275) Tibraani and Ibn Jauzi narrate on the authority of Ameerul Momineen Hazrat Ali-e-Murtuda (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “If any nation sits together for a advisory meeting and they have one amongst them with the name Muhammad, and yet they do not allow him to join this sitting, then there will be no Barkat in their sitting.”
(276) Haakim and Khateeb narrate in Taarikh and Dailmi narrates in Musnad from Ameerul Momineen Ali (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “When you keep your sons name Muhammad, then respect him and make place for him in a gathering and do not give him ties towards bad and do not wish bad upon him.”
(277) It is on the authority of Imam Ataa (radi Allahu anhu) (Taabi’ee who is the distinguished Ustaad of Imamul A’ima Sayyidina Imam Azam Abu Hanifa radi Allahu anhuma) as follows: “One who wishes for his pregnant wife to have a boy baby, he should place his hand on her stomach and say, ‘In Kaana Zakara Faqad Samaytuhu Muhammadan’ If it is a boy, then I have named him Muhammad. Insha Allah a boy will be born.” (Sakhaawi)
RESPECT FOR PARENTS
(278) It is on the authority of Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) that Sa'ad bin Ubaadah (radi Allahu anhu) asked the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) his verdict about this, that his mother had taken a man'nat (vow) and had passed away before she fulfilled it. The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) decreed that he Sa’ad (radi Allahu anhu) should fulfill it." (Sihah Sit'ta)Note: One must only take a man'nat that is within ones means to fulfill and if one takes a man'nat that is un-Islamic it need not be fulfilled as it is incorrect
(279) An Ansari sahaba (radi Allahu anhu) came to the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)and asked if there was anything he could do to benefit his parents after they had passed away and the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Yes. There are four things; to make their Namaaz (Janazah), to make Dua for their forgiveness, to fulfill their bequests and to respect their friends and relatives from their side by keeping the relationship established. These are those good actions that are to be done for them after they pass away.”
(280) The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “The children should make Dua-e-Maghfirat for them (their parents) after they have passed away. (Narrated by ibn Najar who narrated from Abi Usaid Maalik bin Zararah (radi Allahu anhu)
(281) The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “When a person stops making dua for his mother and father, his sustenance is stopped.” (Tibraani in his Taareekh and by Dailmi from Anas bin Maalik (radi Allahu anhu))
(282) The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “If anyone of you gives some Nafil Khairaat, then he should do so on behalf of your parents, so that they may attain its reward and there shall be no shortage in reward. (Narrated by Tibrani in Awsat and Ibn Asakir on the authority of Abdullah bin Umar radi Allahu anhuma, Dailmi recorded it in Musnadul Firdaus)
(283) It has been mentioned in the Hadith that one Sahabi-e-Rasool (radi Allahu anhu) presented himself in the Court of the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) and said, “Ya Rasoolallah (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) I carried my mother on my back and walked for six miles on rocks that were so intensely hot that if one places meat on it, it would have cooked. O Prophet of Allah (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam), have I fulfilled my rights towards her (as her son)?” The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Possibly it can be the recompense for one of the jolts of pain that she felt from the many jolts at the time of giving birth to you.” [Majma’uz Zawaa’id]
(284) The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Cursed is he, who causes his parents grief! Cursed is he, who causes his parents grief!” [Targheeb]
(285) It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) mentioned: “Do not detest your fathers; he who detested his father committed infidelity” (in other words disloyalty). (Muslim)
HUSBAND AND WIFE
(286) It is on the authority of Ummul Mo'mineen Umme Salma (radi Allahu anha) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "That wife, who passes from this world in the condition that her husband is pleased with her, will enter into Jannat."(Tirmizi)(287) It is on the authority of Ummul Mo'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (radi Allahu anha) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "The females duty is towards here husband more than all people and the males duty is most towards his mother."(Haakim)
(288) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "One, who loves my way, should follow my Sunnah and Nikah is from my Sunnah." (Baihaqi)
(289) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Amaama (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) used to say, "After attaining piety, there is nothing better for a man, than a pious wife. If he asks something of her, she obeys and when he looks at her, he feels happy and if she takes an oath on him, she fulfills it truly and if he goes out somewhere, she protects herself (her respect) and his wealth." (Ibn Majah)
(290) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "One marries a woman generally due to four reasons, (1) Her Wealth, (2) Her Beauty, (3) Her Family Lineage, and (4) Her religiousness, and one must give priority to her religiousness." (Muslim - Abu Dawood)
(291) Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (radi Allahu anha) said, The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said (to me), “You were shown to me in a dream. An Angel brought you to me, wrapped in a piece of silken cloth, and said to me, 'This is your wife.' I removed the piece of cloth from your face, and there you were. I said to myself. 'If it is from Allah, then it will surely be.” (Bukhari)
SICKNESS AND ITS CURE
(292) Faatima bint Al-Mundhir (radi Allahu anha) reported that whenever a lady suffering from fever was brought to Asma' bint Abu Bakr (radi Allahu anha), she used to invoke Allah for her and then sprinkle some water on her body, and the chest and say, "Allah's Apostle used to order us to decrease fever with water." (Bukhari)(293) Hazrat Anas (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, "One who makes wudhu properly and then goes to visit a sick fellow Muslim brother with only the intention of attaining blessings and reward, will be kept away from the fire of hell for a distance equivalent to a sixty year journey (by foot)."
(294) Hazrat Naz’i reported that Abdullah bin Umar (radi Allahu anhum) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Fever is from the heat of Hell, so put it out (cool it) with water.” (Bukhari)
(295) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "Allah has not sent down any sickness without sending down its cure as well." (Bukhari)
(296) It is on the authority of Hazrat Jabir (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "There is medicine for sickness. When the sickness receives the medicine, then through the Will of Allah, the person attains cure." (Muslim)
(297) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Dardah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "Allah has sent down illness and the medicine. Allah has given a medicine for every sickness. Thus, you should use medication, but do not use medication from Haraam (which has haraam in it)."(Abu Dawood)
(298) It is on the authority of Hazrat Uqba bin Aamir (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "Do not force a sick person to eat, for Almighty Allah gives him food and drink." (Tirmizi)
(299) It is on the authority of Hazrat Usaama bin Shuraik (radi Allahu anhu) that the people asked, "O Prophet of Allah (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)! Should we take medicine (when sick)?" The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) replied, "Yes, O servants of Allah; You should take medication, for Allah has not sent any illness without its cure, except for one and that is old age." (Tirmizi)
(300) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, “If a house fly falls into the drink of anyone of you, he should dip it (in the drink), for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure for the disease." (Bukhari)
(301) Imam Ghazzali quotes the following Hadith in his book Mukashifatul Quloob, “That person who is sick for the entire night and remains patient due to his illness and wishes the pleasure of Allah, then such a person has been purified from his sins like the day on which he was born.”
(302) It is reported on the authority of Hazrat Mu’aaz ibn Jabal (radi Allahu anhu) that when a believer becomes ill, then the Angel appointed on his left shoulder (to write bad deeds) is asked to stop writing any of his sinful deeds and the Angel on the right side is commanded to write all the best of his deeds.” (Mukashifatul Quloob)
