A HADITH A DAY KEEPS THE SHAITAAN AWAY 365 BLESSED SAYINGS OF THE HOLY PROPHET P-5

(162) Hazrat Anas (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “If any Muslim grows a tree or a garden and if any human, bird or animal eats from it, then this becomes sadqa for that Muslim.” (Mishkaat)
MORALS AND CHARACTER
(163) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu)that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "A Haji is blessed with Maghfirat (forgiveness of sins) and whomsoever he (a Haji) makes dua for is also forgiven." (Tibraani)
(164) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “One, who has hair, should take good care of it by washing it, oiling and combing it.” (Abu Dawood)
(165) Hazrat Abdullah ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) used to deliver the Khutba whilst leaning against a date palm. When the Mimbar was made, he delivered (the Khutba) from the Mimbar. The Date palm then began to weep. The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) went to it and ran his hand over it (in compassion). (Bukhari)
(166) Hazrat Saeed ibn Musayyab (radi Allahu anhu) said that he heard Hazrat Sa'ad (radi Allahu anhu) saying, "On the day of Uhud, the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said to me, 'my parents be sacrificed upon you.'" (Bukhari)
Explanation: This Hadith Shareef refers to the Battle of Uhud, where the Kufaar had commanded a strong offensive against the Sahaba-e-Kiraam and their target was the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam). During this moment, Hazrat Sa'ad ibn Abil Waqqas (radi Allahu anhu) was beside the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) forming a defense. The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) passed on the arrows to him and said,’ My parents be sacrificed upon you.' In other words the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) was showing him love and compassion for his efforts in serving Allah’s Deen.

(167) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, "Imaan (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches and Haya (Modesty) is a part of faith." (Bukhari)

(168) Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, “Once Allah's Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) passed by an Ansari (man) who was admonishing to his brother regarding Haya'. On that Allah's Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Leave him, for, Haya' (modesty) is a part of faith." (Bukhari)
(169) Hazrat ibn Mas’ood (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “A momin is not one who tease, curses and speaks in a vulgar manner and he is not one who is shameless.” (Tirmizi Shareef)
(170) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, “It is Sunnat for a person to walk his visitor to the door of his house.” (Ibn Majah)
(171) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "When wearing clothing and when making wudhu, always start from the right hand side." (Tirmizi Shareef)
(172) Hazrat Jaabir (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Sahaba-e-Kiraam were seated together and the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) arrived. He said, "Why is it that I see you seated apart and distant." (Abu Dawood)
(173) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "When anyone of you yawns, then cover your mouth with your hand stopping it, since Shaitaan enters the mouth."(Muslim)
(174) The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "That person who is not hospitable to his guests does not have good ways in him." (Kimya)
(175) The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "When a guest visits your home then he brings with him his own sustenance and when he leaves, his visit, becomes the means of forgiveness for the host." (Fatawa Razvia)
(176) Hazrat Abul Ahwas (radi Allahu anhu) says, "I said to the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam), O Prophet of Allah! (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)! I went to some person’s house and he did not treat me well as a guest. Should I treat him well when he visits my home or should I treat him the same?" The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Treat him as a guest (in other words properly)." (Tirmizi)
(177) Hazrat Umar (radi Allahu anhu) says, "If a person jokes a lot with someone, then he loses his respect before that person." (Kimya)
(178) Hazrat Salman Farsi (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, "One who goes for the Morning Prayer has gone with the flag of Imaan and one who goes in the morning to the market place has gone with the flag of Shaitaan." (Ibn Majah)
(179) Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (radi Allahu anha) said, The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) used to accept gifts and used to give something in return. (Bukhari)
(180) Hazrat Ibn 'Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "One who takes back his gift (which he has already given) is like a dog that swallows its vomit." (Bukhari)
(181) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "He is not a courageous person, who is strong and slams people down, but a courageous person is one who controls his temper in anger." (Bukhari - Muslim)
(182) Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "The people of Yemen have come to you and they are more gentle and soft-hearted. Belief is Yemenite and Wisdom is Yemenite, while pride and haughtiness are the qualities of the owners of camels. Calmness and solemnity are the characters of the owners of sheep." (Bukhari)
(183) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abdullah ibn Amr (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "One who remains silent will receive salvation." (Tirmizi)
(184) It is on the authority of ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “A momin should not invoke curse on people." (Tirmizi)
 
(185) It is on the authority of Hazrat Imraan bin Haseen (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "To be established on remaining silent (not talking unnecessarily and saying wrong things), is better than sixty years of Ibaadat." (Baihaqi)

(186) It is on the authority of Hazrat Huzaifa (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "A person, who carries tales, will not enter Paradise."(Muslim)
(187) It is on the authority of Hazrat Anas (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Respect your children. Teach them good morals."(Ibn Majah)
(188) It is on the authority of Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “The right of the father upon his children is to keep good names for them and teach them good morals.”

(189) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “One, who has hair, should take good care of it by washing it, oiling and combing it.” (Abu Dawood)

(190) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) narrates a Hadith that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Amaanat (That which is given in trust) should be returned to that person who left it with you and do not be distrustful with him who has been distrustful to you.” (Tirmizi)
(191) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Part of someone's being a good Muslim is his leaving alone that which does not concern him." (Tirmizi)
(192) It is on the authority of Al-Nawwas bin Samaan (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said,"Righteousness is good morality, and wrongdoing is that which wavers in your soul and which you dislike people finding out about." (Muslimi)
(193) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "The poor person is not the one who asks a morsel or two (of meals) from the others, but the poor is the one who has nothing and is ashamed to beg from others." (Bukhari)
 
(194) Hazrat Abdullah bin 'Amr (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, “"Whoever has (the following) four characteristics will be a real hypocrite: "If he speaks, he tells a lie; if he gives a promise, he breaks it, if he makes a covenant he proves treacherous; and if he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent evil insulting manner (unjust). And whoever has one of these characteristics has one characteristic of a hypocrite, unless he gives it up."

(195) Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) reported, "The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) was seated with us in the mosque and speaking to us. When he rose to depart, we all rose with him and remained standing until he entered any of the houses of his Blessed Wives." (Mishkaat)

(196) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abdullah ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Two persons must not converse secretly to the exclusion of another person." (Mu’atta)

(197) Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, “"Do not wish to be like anyone except in two cases: (The first is) A person, whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously; (the second is) the one whom Allah has given wisdom and he acts according to it and teaches it to others."

(198) Hazrat Jarir bin Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu) said, “I took the oath of allegiance at The hands of the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) for offering prayer perfectly giving Zakaat and giving good advice to every Muslim. (Bukhari)
(199) Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “By Him in Whose Power my life is, it is better for anyone of you to take a rope and cut the wood (from the forest) and carry it over his back and sell it (as a means of earning his living) rather than to ask a person for something and that person may give him or not." (Bukhari)

(200) Hazrat Mu'adh ibn Jabl (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said “If anyone suppresses anger when he is in a position to give vent to it, Allah, the All Exalted, will call him on the Day of Resurrection over the heads of all creatures, and ask him to choose any of the bright and large eyed maidens he wishes. (Abu Dawood)

(201) Hazrat Anas (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) told him, “O my beloved son! If you can live in such a way that you pass your morning and evening without having any malice for another in your heart, then do so.” He (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) then said, “O my beloved son! This is my Sunnat and he who loves my Sunnah will be with me in paradise.” (Mishkaat)
(202) Hazrat Abu Saeed (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “If a Muslim who clothes another Muslim who has no clothes, Almighty Allah will adorn him with the garb of Jannat and if any Muslim feeds a hungry Muslim, Allah will feed him from the fruits of Paradise and if any Muslim feeds water to a thirsty Muslim, Allah will grant him satisfaction with the pure drink of Jannat.”(Mishkaat)
KNOWLEDGE
(203) Hazrat ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) says that he heard the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) saying, “I was asleep, and I was given a bowl of milk to drink. I drank so much, that I could feel its traces coming out of my fingers. I then gave whatever was left over after drinking to Hazrat Umar (radi Allahu anhu)." Those present asked, 'O Prophet of Allah, what do you interpret this to mean.' The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Knowledge" (Bukhari)

(204) The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "For as long as a person, who leaves home to attain knowledge of Deen, is out of home, it is as if he is gone out in the path of Allah." (Tirmizi - Mishkaat)

(205) Hazrat Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Be generous in the issues of knowledge and none should hide knowledge from another as it is worse to be distrustful in knowledge than being distrustful in wealth.” (Al Laa liyul Masnoo’a)

(206) Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "If any one of you improves (follows strictly) his Islamic religion then his good deeds will be rewarded ten times to seven hundred times for each good deed and a bad deed will be recorded as it is." (Bukhari)
(207) Hazrat Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “The one who leaves his home with intention of attaining knowledge, then he is in jihad until the time he returns.” (Mishkaat)
(208) Hazrat Hassan Basri (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “One who passes away whilst attaining knowledge with the intention to revive Islam will receive such an elevated position in Jannat, that there will be only one level between him and the Prophets therein. (Mishkaat)
Note: In other words he will be in Jannat in the level under the Prophets.
(209) Hazrat Abu Dardah (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) was asked, ‘What is the limit of that knowledge which if a person attains it, he becomes a “Faqih”?’ The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) answered, “One who learns forty Hadith of Deen and then imparts the knowledge of this to my Ummah, Almighty Allah will raise him from his grave as a “Faqih” and on the day of Qiyaamat, I will intercede for him and I will be his witness.” (Mishkaat)

(119) Hazrat Uthman bin Hakim al-Ansari (radi Allahu anhu) said: I asked Hazrat Sa'id bin Jubair (radi Allahu anhu) about fasting in Rajab, as we were then passing through the month of Rajab.  He said: I heard Ibn 'Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) saying: The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) used to observe fast (so continuously) that we (were inclined) to say that he would not break (them) and then he did not observe them (so continuously) that we (were inclined to say) that he would not observe fast. (Bukhari)
(120) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) would make I'tekaaf for ten days every year, the year, in which he was to pass from this world, he (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) made I'tekaaf for twenty days. (Bukhari)
(121) Hazrat Aisha Siddiqa (radi Allahu anha) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan." (Bukhari)
PERFORMING HAJJ & VISITING MADINAH
(122) Hazrat Ma’az ibn Jabbal (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "There are five nights wherein if a person stays awake in Allah's remembrance, namely, 8th, 9th and   10th Zilhijjah, night of Eid and night of Baraat, he will be blessed with paradise."
 
(123) It is in Baz'zaar on the authority of Abu Moosa (radi Allahu anhu)that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)is reported to have said, "A Haji will intercede (make shafa'at) for four hundred people from his household and he will be cleansed from sin, like the first day when his mother gave birth to him."

(124) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu)that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "A Haji is blessed with Maghfirat (forgiveness of sins) and whomsoever he (a Haji) makes dua for is also forgiven." (Tibraani)
(125) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abdullah ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu)that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)  is reported to have said, "One who comes to visit me and does not come for any other reason, but to visit me, then it is my right that I may intercede for him on the day of Qiyaamah." (Tibraani)
(126) The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Angels guard the streets of Madinah. Neither can Dajaal nor plague enter Madinah." (Bukhari & Muslim)
(127) It is on the authority of Haatib that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "If one visits me after my passing, it is as if he visited me during my lifetime (on this earth) and whosoever passes away in the two Harams will be risen amongst those who have attained salvation." (Baihaqi)

(128) Abdullah ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu)reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)said, "My intercession is Waajib upon that person who visits my Rauza Mubaarak." (Baihaqi)

(129) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu)that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "Whomsoever in my Ummah, makes sabr on any hardship or discomfort that he faces whilst in Madinah, he will receive my intercession on the Last Day." (Muslim)

(130) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) delivered the Khutba and then said, "O People! Hajj has been made Fard upon you, thus, perform Hajj." One person (from amongst the gathering) said, "O Prophet of Allah (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)! Is it (fard every year)?" The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) remained silent. He asked this question three times. The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "If I had to say 'yes', then it would become compulsory upon you (every year) and you would not have been able to fulfill this." He (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) then said, "When I do not say anything, then do not ask me about it. The past nations were destroyed due to asking excessive questions and disrespecting their Prophets. Thus, when I command anything, try to fulfill it to the best of your ability and if I stop you from doing something, then leave that." (Muslim)
  
(131) Hazrat ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “When you have the opportunity of meeting any Haji, then convey salaams to him and shake his hands and ask him to make dua for your forgiveness before he enters his house, since he has been forgiven.” (Ahmed)

(132) Hazrat Zaid bin Aslam narrated from his father that Hazrat Umar (radi Allahu anhu) said, “O Allah! Grant me martyrdom in Your cause, and let me pass away in the city of Your Rasool (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)." (Bukhari)
(133) Hazrat Anas bin Malik (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)"Dajjal will come and set camp at a place close to Madinah and then Madinah will tremble thrice whereupon every Kaafir (unbeliever) and hypocrite will run out (of Madinah) towards him." (Bukhari)
UMRAH AND TRAVELLING
(134) Hazrat Abu Huraira  (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, Umra is an amends for the sins committed (between it and the previous one). And the reward of Hajj Mabrur (accepted Hajj) is nothing except Paradise." (Bukhari)
 
(135) Ibn Jurayj (radi Allahu anhu) Ikrima bin Khalid (radi Allahu anhu) asked Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) about performing Umra before Hajj. Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) replied, "There is no harm in it." 'Ikrima (radi Allahu anhu) said, "Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) also said, 'The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) had performed 'Umra before performing Hajj.” (Bukhari)

(136) Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Traveling is a kind of affliction as it prevents one from eating, drinking and sleeping properly. So, when one's needs are fulfilled, one should return quickly to one's family." (Bukhari)

ZAKAAT
(137) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "On the day of Qiyaamat, the wealth of those who did not give their zakaat will turn into a bald headed snake that will chase them around. When it catches him, it will attack his mouth." (Ahmad)

(138) Hazrat Abdullah ibn Mas'ood (radi Allahu anhu) states, "We have been commanded to establish Salaah and give Zakaat. The Salaah of those who do not give their Zakaat will not be accepted." (Tibraani)

(139) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "The Hour (Day of Judgment) will not be established till your wealth increases so much so that one will be worried, for no one will accept his Zakat and the person to whom he will give it will reply, 'I am not in need of it.' "(Bukhari)

(140) Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) said that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "Whoever is made wealthy by Allah and does not pay the Zakaat of his wealth, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be made like a bald-headed poisonous male snake with two black spots over the eyes. The snake will encircle his neck and bite his cheeks and say, 'I am your wealth, I am your treasure.' “Then the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) recited the holy verses (of the Quran) 'Let not those who withhold . . .' (to the end of the verse). (3.180).(Bukhari)

(141) It is on the authority of Hazrat Haaritha bin Wahb (radi Allahu anhu): I heard the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) saying, "O people! Give in charity as a time will come upon you when a person will wander about with charity and will not find anybody to accept it, and one (who will be requested to take it) will say, "If you had brought it yesterday, I would have taken it, but to-day I am not in need of it."(Bukhari)
(142) Hazrat Uqba bin Al-Harith (radi Allahu anhu) reported that once the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) offered the Asr prayer and then hurriedly went to his house and returned immediately. I (or somebody else) asked him (as to what was the matter) and he said, "I left at home a piece of gold which was from the charity and I disliked letting it remain a night in my house, so I got it distributed.” (Bukhari)

(143) Hazrat Asma (radi Allahu anha) reported: The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said to me, "Do not withhold your money, (for if you did so) Allah will with-hold His blessings from you." (Bukhari)

MOONSIGHTING
(144) The Beloved Rasool (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "See the moon and commence fasting and see the moon and end fasting (make Eid) and if the skies are overcast, then complete the counting of thirty (days)." (Bukhari)
(145) Hazrat Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) reported, I heard the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) saying, "When you see the crescent (of the month of Ramadan), start fasting, and when you see the crescent (of the month of Shawwal), stop fasting; and if the sky is overcast (and you can't see It) then regard the crescent (month) of Ramadan (as of 30 days, in other words complete 30 days)". (Bukhari)
(146) Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "The month (can be) 29 nights (i.e. days), and do not fast till you see the moon, and if the sky is overcast, then complete Sha'ban as thirty days." (Bukhari)
(147) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported tha the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Start fasting on seeing the crescent (of Ramadan), and give up fasting on seeing the crescent (of Shawwal), and if the sky is overcast (and you cannot see it), complete thirty days of Sha'ban." (Bukhari) 
 
(148) Hazrat Huzayfah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Do not fast (for Ramadan) before the coming of the month until you sight the moon or complete the number (of thirty days); then fast until you sight the moon or complete the number (of thirty days). (Abu Dawood)

EID SALAAH
(149) It is on the authority of Hazrat Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) that the Sahaba-e-Kiraam used to give out the Sadqa-e-Fitr, one or two days before Eid." (Bukhari)
(150) Hazrat Wahb bin Mamba (radi Allahu anhu) reported that Almighty Allah created Jannat on the Day of Eid ul Fitr, and He planted Tooba the tree of Jannat on the Day of Eid ul Fitr and the Day of Eid ul Fitr was the day first set for Hazrat Jibraeel's (alaihis salaam) Wahi and the tauba of the Magicians of Pharoah was also accepted on this day." (Mukashifatul Quloob)
(151) Hazrat Abu Amaama (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "The heart of a person who stays awake on the nights (eve) of the Eids, will not die, when the hearts of others will become dead." (Ibn Majah)
(152) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) used to go for Eid Salaah from one road and return from another road." (Tirmizi)
(153) Hazrat Abu Bukra (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, "The two months of Eid i.e. Ramadan and Dhul-Hijja, do not decrease (in superiority)." (Bukhari)
SADQA (CHARITY)
(154) Hazrat Yahya (radi Allahu anhu) related to me from Malik from Jafar ibn Muhammad (radi Allahu anhu) that his father said, "Fatima (radi Allahu anha), the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam), weighed the hair of Hassan, Hussain, Zaynab and Umm Kulthum (Radi Allahu anhuma), and gave away in sadaqa an equivalent weight of silver." (Muwatta Imam Maalik)
(155) Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa narrated that a man said to the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam), "My mother died suddenly, and I think that if she could speak, she would have given in charity (Sadqa). May I give in charity on her behalf?" He said, "Yes! Give in charity on her behalf."(Bukhari)
(156) It is on the authority of Abu Saeed (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “For a person to give one dirham sadqa during his life (good health) is better than giving ten dirhams Sadqa whilst on his death bed.” (Abu Dawood)
(157) It is on the authority of Abu Mas’ood (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Whatever a person spends on his family with the intention of attaining sawaab (reward) is also Sadqa.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
(158)  It has been mentioned in the Hadith Shareef, “Sadqa extinguishes the fire of Allah’s wrath like water puts of fire.” (Tibrani)
(159) Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying: Of the dinar you spend as a contribution in Allah's path, or to set free a slave, or as a sadaqa given to a needy, or to support your family, the one yielding the greatest reward is that which you spent on your family. (Muslim)
 
(160) Hazrat Anas bin Malik (radi Allahu anhu) reported: When the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) came to Madinah; he commanded that a mosque be built. He (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "O Bani An-Najjar! Suggest to me a price for the garden of yours." They replied, "By Allah, we will not ask its price except from Allah."(Bukhari)

(In other words they only wanted Allah’s Blessing for it)
(161) Sayyidah Aisha (radi Allahu anha) reported that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "When a woman gives in charity some of the foodstuff (which she has in her house) without spoiling it, she will receive the reward for what she has spent, and her husband will receive the reward because of his earning, and the storekeeper will also have a reward similar to it. The reward of one will not decrease the reward of the others. “(Bukhari)

(82) Hazrat Abu Sa'id Al Khudri (radi Allahu anhu) reported: When you hear the call (to prayer), repeat what the Muazzin pronounces. (Muslim)

(83) Hazrat Sahl bin Sa’ad (radi Allahu anhu) reported, “I used to have my sehri meals with my family and then hurry up for presenting myself for the (Fajr) prayer with Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam).” (Bukhari)

(84) Hazrat Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Three types of people on the day of Qiyaamat will be seated on hills made from musk: 1. that servant who fulfilled the duties towards his master and his duties to Allah; 2. That person who was the Imam of a nation and they were pleased with him; 3. that person who called in a day and night the Azaans for the five Namaaz.” (Mishkaat)
(85) Hazrat Uqba bin Aamir (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “Your Allah is very pleased with that shepherd who stands at the top of a mountain and calls out the Azaan and then performs his Namaaz. Almighty Allah says (to the Angels). ‘Look at that servant of mine. He establishes Namaaz and fears me. Verily, I have forgiven him’”.

(86) Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “The greatness of the sound of the Muazzin can be heard by the jins, humans and Angels and all those who hear this will testify on his behalf on the last day.” (Mishkaat)
  
(87) Hazrat Abdullah ibn Umar ibn A’as (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) once whilst discussing Namaaz said, “One who protects his Namaaz, then this Namaaz will be a light, evidence and salvation for him in the hereafter and one who does not protect it, will not have any light, evidence or salvation and on the day of Qiyaamat he will be with Qaaroon, Firawn and Abi bin Khalf.” (Mishkaat) 

(88) Hazrat Umm-e-Habeeba (radi Allahu anha) reported that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “That person who reads 12 rakaats in a day and night will have a house built for him in Jannat;  Four rakaats before Zuhr Namaaz and two Rakaats after Zuhr and two rakaats after Maghrib and two rakaats after Esha and two rakaats before Fajr.” (Mishkaat)

Note: This refers to the 12 rakaats of Sunnat-e-Mua’kadah in one day’s Namaaz.

(89) Hazrat Abdullah ibn Salaam reports, “When Nabi (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) arrived in Madinah, I came to him and when I saw his blessed face, looking at him carefully, I recongised that this was not the face of a false person. Then the first words which he (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said there were, ‘O People! Make the conveying of salaams common amongst you and feed the people and be kind towards your relatives and at night when all are asleep, then read your Namaaz. If you do this, then you will enter Jannat comfortably.” (Tirmizi – Ibn Majah)

Note: Here, the Namaaz being referred to is Tahajjud.

(90) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said to Hazrat Bilal (radi Allahu anhu) at the time of Fajr Salaah, “O Bilal! Tell me, what is that Islamic deed that you have done which makes you feel hopeful, as I have heard the sound of your shoes in front of me in Jannat?” Hazrat Bilal (radi Allahu anhu) replied: “My most hopeful deed is that either during the day or night, whenever I make wudhu and with that wudhu I read whichever Namaaz is in my faith.” (Bukhari)

(91) Hazrat Jaabir bin Samura (radi Allahu anhu) reports that there was a young person who used to be present in the court of Rasoolullah (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) and would always lend a hand in serving the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam). Once, the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said to him, “Ask me for something which you need fulfilled?” He said, “Pray to Allah for me that I may get Jannat.” On hearing this, the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) raised his head, and then took one deep breath and said, “I will, but only on this condition, that you make Sajdah in abundance.” (Kanzul Umaal)

Note: The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) asked him to read Nafl Salaah in abundance.

(92) Hazrat Jaabir (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, “That person who has these three things in him will be granted a place under the shade of Allah’s Arsh (Throne) on the day on which there will be no shade except this. He, who makes wudhu even when it is difficult, goes by foot to the Musjid even in the dark and feeds the hungry. (Mishkaat)

(93) Hazrat Abdullah ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "One who performs his morning prayer, remains in the care of Allah until evening." (Tibrani)

(94) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah and Hazrat Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhum) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "If the people do not abstain from staying away from Jummah Salaah, Allah will place a seal on their hearts and they will become from amongst those who are neglectful (of their duties to Allah)." (Muslim)

(95) The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "One who climbs over the necks (shoulders) of people on Friday (in the Musjid), has built a bridge to hell for himself."(Tirmizi)

Note: This Hadith shows that we should not walk over peoples necks when in the Musjid on Fridays so that we can get to the front. At the same time it must be noted that when going to Musjid, we should sit in the front, so that those who come after do not have to climb over us.

RAMADAAN & FASTING
 
(96) The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Allah does not need that person to fast, who is vulgar and obscene whilst fasting." (Bukhari)

(97) It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) was the most generous amongst all the people and his generosity was most evident in the month of Ramadaan, at the time when he used to meet with Jibraeel alaihis salaam, and he would meet with Jibraeel (alaihis salaam) on every night of Ramadaan and recite the Quran. When the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) used to meet with Jibraeel (alaihis salaam), he used to be even more generous than excessive wind.” (Bukhari)

(98) The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "If any one of you is fasting, then he should not say any thing bad and one must avoid bickering. If someone swears at you and hits you, just say, I am fasting” (Bukhari)

(99) The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "(Ramadaan) is a month of Sabr (Patience) and the reward for patience is Jannat. This is also a month of showing kindess to one another." (Mishkaat Shareef)

(100) The Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "The past sins of one who has kept the fast of Ramadaan with Imaan and with sincerity have been forgiven and the one who spent the nights of Ramadaan in Ibaadat with Imaan and sincerity, will have all his past sins forgiven." (Mishkaat Shareef)

(101) "It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said,” If a person (Muslim) keeps fast for one day solely for the pleasure of Allah, then Almighty Allah will keep him such a vast distance away from hell, as if he started to fly from childhood until he became old. (In other words, this is how far away he would be kept from Jahanum, the distance covered in flying for all his life) (Baihaqi)

(102) "It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said,” A person who misses the fast of Ramadaan without any valid reason of Shariat or not due to illness, can keep fast for the entire year, but he will not attain the sawaab (reward of Ramadaan)." (Ibn Majah) 

(103) "It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "Our deeds are presented (to Allah) on a Monday and Thursday. Thus, I want my deeds to be presented to Allah whilst I am fasting." (Tirmizi Shareef) 

(104) It is on the authority of Hazrat Umar (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said, "If a person spends the 27th night of Ramadaan in Ibaadat until morning, then this action is loved more than the Ibaadat in all the other nights of Ramadaan." Bibi Faatima (radi Allahu anha) asked, "O My Beloved Father, What about those old and weak men and women who do not have the ability to stand up during the night (in Ibaadat)?" The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Can they not use a pillow to support themselves?" (Mukashifatul Quloob)

(105) It is in Baihaqi that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said,” This month of Ramadaan is a month of great excellence, the beginning of which is Mercy, the middle is for forgiveness and the end is for protection from hell."(Baihaqi)

(106) The Beloved Rasool (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said,  “My Ummat has been blessed with five things in the month of Ramadaan, which has not been given to any Ummat before them; The odour from the mouth of a fasting person is more precious to Allah than the scent of musk, The Angels make dua for them until Iftaar, The Shaitaans are imprisoned in this month, Allah adorns Jannat daily and says, 'Soon my pious servants will enter in here and all their discomforts and hardships will be removed, and in the last night of this month, Allah forgives them. It was asked to the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) whether this referred to lailatul Qadr and he said no, but when the worker completes his work, he receives his reward." (Mukashifatul Quloob)

(107) The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "If only the people knew the true merits of Ramadaan, they would wish for the entire year to be Ramadaan."
Hazrat Umar bin Al-Khattab (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "When night falls from this side and the day vanishes from this side and the sun sets, then the fasting person should break his fast." (Bukhari) 

(108) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of hell are closed and the devils are chained."(Bukhari)

(109) Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Allah said, 'all the deeds of Hazrat Adam's (alaihis salaam) children (nation) are for them, except fasting which is for Me, and I will give the reward for it.' Fasting is a shield or protection from the fire and from committing sins. If one of you is fasting, he should avoid sexual relation with his wife and quarreling, and if somebody should fight or quarrel with him, he should say, 'I am fasting.' By Him in Whose Control my soul is' the smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk. There are two pleasures for the fasting person, one at the time of breaking his fast, and the other at the time when he will meet his Rubb; then he will be pleased because of his fasting." (Bukhari)
(110) Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) says, I heard the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) saying, “Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven." (Bukhari)

(111) It is on the authority of Hazrat Sahl (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?' They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it." (Bukhari) 

(112) It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam)is reported to have said, "When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened." (Bukhari) 

(113) Hazrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, "If somebody eats or drinks forgetfully then he should complete his fast, for what he has eaten or drunk, has been given to him by Allah." (Bukhari)

(114) Sayyida Aisha (radi Allahu anha) reported that Hamza bin 'Amr Al-Aslami (radi Allahu anhu) asked the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam), "Should I fast while traveling (whilst I am a musaafir)?" The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) replied, "You may fast if you wish, and you may not fast if you wish." (Bukhari) 

(115) Hazrat Aisha (radi Allahu anha) reported that the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Whoever died and he ought to have kept fast (for the missed days of Ramadan) then his guardians may fast on his behalf." (Bukhari)

(116) Hazrat Abdullah ibn Amr bin Al 'As (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Holy Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, to me, "You fast daily all the year and pray every night all the night?" I replied in the affirmative. The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "If you keep on doing this, your eyes will become weak and your body will get tired. He who fasts all the year is as he who did not fast at all. The fasting of three days (a month) will be equal to the fasting of the whole year." I replied, "I have the power for more than this." The Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) said, "Then fast like the fasting of Dawood (alaihis salaam) who used to fast on alternate days and would never flee from the battle field, on meeting the enemy. (Bukhari) 

(117) Hazrat Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) said, “I never saw the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) seeking to fast on a day more (preferable to him) than this day, the day of 'Ashura', or this month, i.e. the month of Ramadan.” (Bukhari)

(118) Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported the Prophet (sall Allaho alaihi wasallam) as saying, "Whoever establishes the prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards (not to show off) will have all his past sins forgiven." (Bukhari)
